Dr. Matthew Strittmatter, Principal

Dr. Strittmatter has served the Elizabeth Davis Middle School community in Chesterfield County since 2019. Prior to coming to EDMS, he served as an associate principal, assistant principal, dean of students, and English teacher/department chair at Falling Creek Middle School.

Dr. Strittmatter obtained his bachelors, masters, and doctorate from Virginia Tech. After graduating in 2009 with a Masters in English Education, he moved to Fountain, Colorado where he taught high school English and coached baseball for two years before returning back to the east coast where he resumed his education career with the Chesterfield School Division.

Dr. Strittmatter and his wife Mallory have three daughters.

Headshot of Jennifer Acome

Jennifer Acome, Associate Principal - 8th Grade

Mrs. Acome has spent her entire career in Chesterfield County Public Schools. She started as an English teacher at G.W. Carver Middle School in 1998, and moved across town when Davis opened in 2008. She continued her career as an English teacher until she decided to become a math teacher in 2013 at EDMS.

Remaining in the Ravens’ Nest, Mrs. Acome began her administrative career in 2016 as Assistant Principal and is now the Associate Principal. She is passionate about restorative practices, enjoys the positive energy at the Nest, and looks forward to celebrating all successes at EDMS!

Mrs. Acome received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from SUNY Oswego in 1998, and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from VCU in 2015.

Headshot of Jacquelyn Cioffi

Jacquelyn Cioffi, Assistant Principal - 6th Grade

Mrs. Cioffi began her career in Baltimore County, Maryland. She taught 4th grade Spanish, 9th-12th grade Spanish, and 9th-12th grade ESL before working in the World Languages office for the county. She moved to Virginia in 2016, where she began working as a teacher with the Department of Juvenile Justice. She joined Chesterfield County in 2017. She’s excited to continue her work as an administrator here at Elizabeth Davis Middle School.

Mrs. Cioffi received her Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Towson University in 2010. She received her Master of Arts in Leadership of Teaching Spanish from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland in 2013. She received her endorsement in Administration and Supervision from Goucher College in 2015.

Julie Arntson, Dean of Students

Mrs. Julie Arntson is excited to join the Elizabeth Davis Middle School family as a Dean of Students. Prior to joining the Davis team, she taught ninth grade English in Hopewell City Public Schools, supported teachers as an Instructional Coach in Petersburg City Public Schools, and served as a Dean of Students for Carver Middle School.

Originally from Michigan, Julie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education from Western Michigan University. She then went on to earn a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Science in Educational Administration and Supervision (PreK - 12). Julie calls education the “family business,” as her parents and her younger sister are also teachers.

Julie has three wonderful daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and knitting. She is looking forward to an excellent school year, and is excited to support and serve the Davis community.
